Special Talents:
Pushing up on your knees and scooting backwards on your belly. You do a pretty killer cobra move. Screaming in excitement/wanting to be heard is special, so that should be listed here as well. You are pretty mobile but not crawling yet - we feel like that is going to happen any day and boy will our lives change then! You FINALLY showed us you can roll back to tummy - then opted not to do it anymore. Ever. Sitting on your own and grabbing toys and passing them hand to hand.
Crying:
Happiest baby ever. We are so blessed in this department. When you are "fussy" it just isn't all that bad. You are usually just tired - and who can blame you? It's hard work learning so much and being a tiny dude.
Sleeping:
At night: Hasta la vista swaddle. Going on 6 weeks - and you're a champ. When we lay you down for bed you immediately turn to your right side and put your hands in this little prayer pose (I've got to get a pic of that). That means you're going to sleep. And you sleep all night still. You're current routine is pretty consistently 7-6. A few nights ago you woke up pretty sad at about 3am...but you're getting a top tooth, and it was a sad little moan. :(
For naps: dare I say that you are starting to make sense?! You take a short am nap (9:15-10ish), a longer lunch nap (11:15-1:00ish), and a short pm nap (4-4:45ish). Then bed at 7-6. You still use a swaddle sometimes at daycare but we're working on that.
Loves:
Laughing - it's gotten to be a deeper laugh and it's awesome. Like a real chuckle vs. just giggling. I love hearing you and your Dod just laughing away in the mornings while he changes your diaper. You say mama!! rarely, but you say it. And recently you introduced some "o" sounds, bobo, dodo, etc. I think dada is still your favorite to say - and nana is a close second. You love to whisper - you find it so entertaining. You love musical toys - and really anything that makes noise! For food you have a pretty good palate now - still having to mix fruit in. But you've tried (and liked!) a lot: greek yogurt, broccoli, apples, pears, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, butternut squash, bananas, prunes, etc. We have also introduced a sippy cup with a tiny bit of water at your nighttime meal - although you haven't really figured out how to get it out on your own. But you love to bang the cup around and are figuring out what it does!
Not so much love:
You are out on pureed carrots. Just not gonna eat them. Same with chicken. You had a pretty over-dramatic experience while dining out recently where I gave you a niblet of chicken and you acted as if you were gagging and dying for about 5 minutes until I got it all out. We'll get there. But you are just not a fan of texture in your food right now! You don't love having to be contained now that you know you can move - so being in your carseat/being held too long/etc is just not that appealing. You want to escape and MOVE!
Schedule:
This hasn't changed much in the last month. Hooray! I think that means we actually have a schedule! You currently eat 4-5 times/day about every 3-4 hours. This usually is 6:30, 10, 1:30, 4:30, 7 (and you aren't really starving, I just nurse you before bed - so sometimes we skip this one altogether).
We are still 100% breastfeeding for milk - but also have 3 "meals" a day. You have solid food at 8:30, 2:30, and 5:45 - about 2 oz each feeding. You are taking 3 naps a day as mentioned in the sleep section, and you sleep at night from 7-6.
