Special
Talents:
Well, crawling, obviously. You started this on the night of
Thanksgiving, and started to take off quickly. Shortly after, you started standing
and starting to cruise. You use your mouth as a third hand to help you stand up
on the ottoman and couch. You also are putting food in your mouth on your own,
and squealing in excitement!
Crying:
Still
the happiest baby ever. Our friends call you the gateway baby – you make it
look easy! You’re usually pretty darn content and when you aren’t, just quiet
and serious instead of crying/upset. Again, when you’re tired you’ll cry, and
it seems you’re just starting to figure out temper tantrums….more to come next
month?
Sleeping:
At night: Sleeping all night again
consistently, 7-6. You move around lots now, usually starting on your side and
ending up on your tummy, bottom up! You will sometimes wake a bit to resettle,
but you always get yourself back to sleep right away.
For naps: Most days, down to two. At school
you stay awake until about 11, then nap til 1ish. Then a short pm nap
3:30-4:30ish. When you’re home you still take a little morning siesta from
8:30-9:30ish and then a shorter midday nap. We’ll drop that one when you’re
ready – but without all your friends keeping you entertained you get pretty
tired in the mornings.
Loves:
WATER.
You love water more than any kid on the planet, probably. We give you a sippy
with water at meals, and you LOVE it. You also love to sip from straws, and
from mom and dad’s cups. You can’t have
too much b/c you need to drink your milk, but boy do you love cold water! Also, crawling and standing! Mainly standing.
It’s like you got bored of crawling pretty quickly – so most of the time you
are standing. You love to laugh and play, musical toys are some of your
favorites. You love sitting in the grocery cart and high chairs (like a big
boy!). For food – you really prefer
fruits still. We are starting to get more and more veggies in along with spices
and herbs – but you will chow things down if they are sweet. Next month we’ll
start doing more big boy food and hope you take to some more veggies and meats.
Not so much love:
Stranger
danger! You will stick out your bottom lip and stare at strangers like you’re
about to cry. Good boy! Except when they are nice…ha. You are very stoic to
people you don’t know, and being cautious is just fine. You don’t love hearing
no, either. When we take something you are enjoying away from you things can
get pretty dicey!
Schedule:
This hasn't changed much again
in the last month. We dropped the last
feeding, officially – so you are at 4 nursing sessions a day about 3.5-4 hrs
apart. This usually is 6:30, 10, 1:30, 5:30.
We are still 100% breastfeeding for milk - but also have 3
"meals" a day. You have solid food at 8:30, 2:30, and 5:45 –
now about 3 oz each feeding. You are taking usually 2 naps a day as mentioned
in the sleep section, and you sleep at night from 7-6.
