6 Months with T-Tiny

I realized that I have failed to include nicknames on the blog - and I certainly don't want to forget them later! The majority of the time we call our little man T-Tiny...or Tiny for short. Not sure why - he wasn't incredibly small at any point, nor is he now, but to us....he is tiny. I also use bear and baby bear a lot - and of course, throw in enough Fischer Dean's that he at least hears his real name from time to time.

So now my Tiny is 6 months old. Time has gone by WAY too fast - I feel like he was just born yesterday - but also can't imagine that we ever lived a day without him. I mean...this face, right?!

Length

Last Month: 26"

Now: 28"

Weight

Last Month: 17lbs 4 oz (70th %)

Now: 17lbs 11oz (50th %)

Special Talents:
Boy do you love to sit on your own. We still have to be next to you b/c you totter over and would smack your head...but you love to sit on your own. You have re-engaged with rolling over (tummy to back - still no back to tummy...although your Dr. says sitting is WAY harder - so you are just choosing not to. Little pickle.) Squealing, bouncing, and quite recently, spitting up for a good time.

Crying:
Re-engaged crying when you go to bed (fun!)- in the grand scheme of things we are now laying you down wide-eyed after singing Goodnight Sweetheart...so I'll give you some benefit here that we are asking a lot. But after a little soothing (usually about 10 minutes off and on) you'll conk out.

Sleeping:
At night: As mentioned above, you now lay down pretty wide eyed but sleepy, and usually cry 5-10 minutes still - but we soothe you every 5 and re-paci you, and then you settle in.  Your bedtime is between 6:30-7 - depending on when your last nap at school was.  We lay your silky down, turn on the rain, and for two weeks now have been swaddling one arm only (your right arm stays free). I thought we'd do this a few days before taking both arms out...but turns out you move your arms like a lunatic windmill alternating between knocking out your paci and rubbing your eyes when we do that....so...baby steps, right?
For naps: You are currently messing with your nap "schedule" (I use that term quite loosely....), and taking about 3 one hour naps a day.  Sometimes the middle nap is longer, sometimes the first nap is longer.  I keep thinking you'll choose a schedule - but you don't.  However, you usually don't sleep through meals now, which you were doing for a few weeks there.

Loves:
Still loving the exersaucer and Sophie.  You also have developed more love for your silky and Dino - your wubbanub.  I had to do a bit of surgery to make you like Dino (swapping out the soothie paci for your nuk paci) - but now you guys are besties and y'all hang out on the way to and from school every day.  Chewing on washcloths/burp cloths...You love your new TEETH! You got your first two teeth on the bottom at just over 5 1/2 months and boy do you like to chew on your hand now. More about this in Not so much love....Dark haired girls - lucky for us all of your teachers at school have dark hair. So between them and momma you find these types of ladies to be your favorite.

Not so much love:
Teething.  In fact - I'm going to go ahead and say you hated it. You woke up every hour for a few nights in a row, just upset at the world.  Eventually I gave you some baby Tylenol (for the first time ever) and you slept 3 hours. Success?

Schedule:
What's this? A new category?! Exciting, right? I really want to be able to look back and see what you were doing when. So this is probably boring for every single reader looking at this...but just skip over it and pacify me please.
You currently eat 6 times/day about every 3 hours.  This usually is 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, and 10:30 (dream feed). I am scared to drop the dream feed, but will after you are stable on solid foods I think. Speaking of...we introduced avocado for the first time today! I'll post about that later.
We are still 100% breastfeeding, and plan to continue that until one of us goes insane.  I still have to lay down to nurse you most every time b/c you don't like the fast flow - but now it's just normal for us. Hopefully by moving you up nipple sizes on your bottles at school you'll get used to it soon!
You take two bottles a day - the 9:30 and 3:30 (I come nurse you at lunch). You haven't had any problems alternating back and forth - thanks for that little B.

You are so active these days, Tiny. I took the pictures while Dad was out...and frankly got a bit nervous you were going to jump out of the chair! (Smartly I lined the ground below with pillows, although we luckily evaded any falls).
